We did it!!

For months, my bicycle buddies and I have been increasing miles in our riding. Not for time, nor duration. Distance. Our goal was to ride the Razorway Greenway from start to finish. Yesterday, we did just that. Now, we have ridden the distance needed, but it was always from our starting part to a certain destination then return to starting point. So yesterday 6 of us started at mile maker #37 (Bella Vista Lake, Arkansas) at 7:00 AM  reaching mile maker #0 (South Fayetteville Arkansas) 5.5 hours later! This also included gaining 1326 feet in elevation.
This was the first time we connected all 6 towns together. A great feeling. A total of 40 miles by time we doubled back for lunch!

The best part was NOT having to ride back. (My goal for another time) Here you see one of our riders husband as he is unloading our bikes. Yes, this awesome person drove an hour or so to pick us up, loaded our bikes with tender loving care. Each had its own blanket and everything. Took us our to cars and this is what you are seeing here.

Saturday on the 'Wing' and Sunday on 'Viotet'.

          The sun was peaking out Saturday morning. Took this on my morning walk.

 

Just to get out the house for a bit...a nice ride on the Wing took us to a Flea Market. Look at our finds! My daughter collects the blue pattern Corningwear and I found the one with the lid to go with the 2 I already have. THEN DH spotted the Monopoly game of our town! A bit old, all pieces and never used! *smile*

 
5 of us road from Bella Vista to Bentonville, Rogers and back. 42 miles. Started out with 54 degrees and ended with 77 degree temp!
 
 

A bit of what I saw this week....

 I stopped to take this pic on my way to meet the ladies for a 22 mile bicycle ride. I so love the fog.                       

This was taken this morning on our 6.5 mile walk. Lake side. Sun trying to peak threw the fog. Fall is in the air. *smile*

       We showed up at the meeting place, all wearing the purple!  LOL This ride was 26 miles. Another fun day!

                  This took us into really nice neighborhoods. Like being on 'home tours'. Another wonderful day biking and enjoying what life has to offer~

Tuesday is Kayaking...

 

...with the Bella Vista Paddle Club. About 9 of us out on a wonderful evening. This is one of 7 lakes in our town. It has been raining off and on all week. Did get a few dry times to play.

 

 We are so fortunate to have this awesome bike trail. Razorback Greenway is a 36-mile, primarily off-road, shared-use trail that extends from the Bella Vista Lake to south Fayetteville, Arkansas.  The trail links together dozens of popular community destinations. Which includes:

• 6 downtowns
• 3 hospitals
• 23 schools
• The University of Arkansas campus
• Corporate headquarters of Walmart, JB Hunt Transport Services and Tyson Foods

• Arts and entertainment venues
• Historic sites
• Parks and Playgrounds
• Residential communities
• Shopping areas

 

 Here we are in a busy area, but we all feel very safe riding and cars are very cautious of us. Here we will hang a right to reconnect with the bike path.

 

Last week I took a pic of the  Cross Church from a distance. Well this bike ride to us even beyond, a 23 mile ride. See the bike path below, in front of the crosses.

 

Here is one of your ladies testing out a bike seat. We are having too much fun!

The 5 of us all got stickers from the Cycle Track Police Officer. We are now official in the city of Rogers! LOL

Biking last Sunday...

Last night kayaking with the Bella Vista Paddle club. A great night, as always.

Penolope's 1st 5k Color Run

 

While my daughter Ondrea was pregnant she ran 3 5k's. This one mom said "was her fist one out of the womb."  *smile* Dad grab a GOLD medal for her at the finish line.

 

I just love our morning walks. Saturday is always a different route. Never know what I may see.

 

On our 18 mile bicycle ride yesterday we dropped by 21C (a luxurious hotel) in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas and was able to see this awesome car all decked out in pennies, nickels and dimes! Its also for 'rent' too!

Another bike ride...this time 35.3 miles!

 

 You can see how new the bike/walking path is. Truly blessed to have this in our area.

           

 

 I am told this is the longest bike tunnel in Arkansas. I took a pic of the two riders ahead of me.

Nothing like fresh picked blackberries from the 'mini forest' made into a 'Blackberry Sauce' to go over vanilla ice cream.

 

A wonderful day to bycyle 37.32 miles

 

 We started out at about 7:20 last Sunday morning...and rode into a bit of rain. Then look what we saw. It was a complete half rainbow.

 

  This is us at one of many brake times! Here we are at the Shiloh museums.

              It wasn't open yet, but I know it would be a fun place to return too!

 

 We are the  Rrazorback-regional-greenway. A bike/walking path that connects many towns together....

 

       Trying to find out and scope out where we are.

 

 This is Lake Fayetteville. A 5 mile bike path around, but we went straight ahead into town where we had a much need lunch break. My goal that day was to bike over 16 miles. That was how far I peddled of that trail. Boy never would I have thought we could bike as far as we did and back. A great day to say the least. *smile*
