Another adventure....this time with new places to eat!

One of our walker/biking buddies ask a couple of us if we wanted to try out a new eatery! Well of course we do!

It was about a 30 drive one way to Washburn, Mo. with some of the most beautiful scenery ever. These pics do NOT do the view justice. One side trees and the other were cliffs.

Here it is! Brisket and Brisket BBQ. Well worth the drive. Fun, Food and Friendship!

Wanda, Dagmar and I'm in the middle.

Now to The Jane Store for dessert! Upon entering the cutes little shop ever, we see a couple who walk with us in the AM. They were just finishing lunch with a piece of Peanut Butter pie! We joined them and the 3 of shared a slice of the best Cherry Pie 'a la Mode! This little place, we are told have the best Reuben Sandwiches on Friday. May have to return for that!  Not only can you eat there, but they also sell a lot of homemade goods like jelly, jams and other items. And end to a fun filled day!

27th annual Mule Jumping event at Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

Mule parade on a foggy morning.

Mules must come to a complete stop before jumping. Two tries before elimination.

They raise the 'bar' after every mule jumps.

Some times saying.....NOOOOOOOOOOOO!  LOL Mules do NOT like to jump!

This was the winner jumping over 40 inches. We were told he won the last contest at 72 inches! Amazing how high they can jump. IF they want to. *smile* A very fun morning!  You can read more about the jump event here. Something I would do again next year~

While in Wichita...

                                                           How true is this!!!!

A day at Sedgwich County Zoo was a fun filled day. These big guys and one 'baby' are my oldest grand's favorite. She even got to feed them so one more thing to scratch off  her 'bucket list'. *smile*

As for me...its was all about the birds! So close you could touch them...if I dared. Which I DID NOT! heheee

This one walked up to stand next to me...so much love.

                                                             What a pose!

I so love these boys...and the gorilla.

A great Sunday for a hike...

Devil's Den State Park is where we hiked last week-end. It was amazing. An hour and 20 minute drive. When we were almost there, it started raining. Oh, what the heck we'd try it anyway. Note to self: buy rain poncho's and keep in car.  No rain, just a wet walk.

Take note that we did not walk so much on the stones. Very slippery.

There is a cave below me to the left. No, didn't go down in it...but 3 kids were making their descent.

Here is my 'partner in crime'....trying NOT to get wet.  lol

Now this was different....

Amazing...

Indeed, there were stacked on top of each other....I even add a few myself.

Always an adventure....
