Memorial Day!

                                          Freedom's Colors ©2002 Roger W Hancock

Red is for the Bravery: blood shed in sacrifice. Freedom came with lives the price.

White is for Liberty; freedom's purity. Life be free from God's degree.

Blue is for the Justice; as vast as the sky. Over freedom's land to occupy.

This pattern is from The Workbasket, November 1976 also found in the
May 1991 issue. No mention of who the designer is.

Shuttled tatted with Lizbeth size 20 thread and is 8.5 inches X 12.5 inches.
It took me about 120 hours to tat with love in every stitch!

CONGRATULATIONS on tatting this fabulous flag! I like the way you arranged the stars in the 'Betsy Ross' circle! This is definitely an heirloom to be treasured!

I wonder how many tatted this pattern from the Workbasket magazine in 1976, as I tend to think that tatting was in a 'down' phase back then. How nice that you have brought it out of the 'past'! Does the magazine mention who designed it?

That is just absolutely amazing and beautiful!!! I can't even imagine completing such a masterpiece! (Okay... so I'm just a little awed... LOL... Alright, alright, more than a little...).

Kathy, all I have is the pattern of the 'Tatting in Flag Theme' and it makes no mention of the designer. Perhaps somewheres out there, someone may have that answer!

Great job, Nancy! This is just amazing. Now you'll have it for Flag Day and July 4th, too.

That is gorgeous! My sister has done one but misplaced her pattern, now she is working on one (from memory and the completed one) using sewing thread. I am fascinated but do not have finger flexibility to do it unless in HEAVY thread.
