Boy, did I 'do it' this time....
By completely leaving out a whole row on the pattern, I have a 'preemie bootie'! No,
that was NOT my intent, but here it is. So now I guess I have to make another pair...just like this one! lol But isn't it just so cute...*smile*
Pattern is from A Pattern Book of Tatting, 'Goodie Two Shoes', by Mary Konior.

I do like seeing these booties in a colour other than white, they are indeed cute.
lol, two pairs for the price of one. They are both beautiful
Definitely adorable booties! Very nicely done!
The smaller one could always be a tree ornament/keepsake for the new parents (or grandparents!), with a tag stating the baby's name and birth date. And a pair certainly could fit a doll. It could also be a 'shower' favor, if you were ambitious (since it has 'less' tatting)! Interesting how the smaller one kept a nice proportion!
You were astute to notice I mentioned a 'bird cage' on my post. I'll show it soon! It's kind of a 'novelty' item!
Thanks for your interest in the lady's slipper, and encouraging me to finally write up the pattern!
oh, NO!!! the ornament or keepsake idea that kathy suggested is great. or, like you said, you could tat another pair just like it. (o: at least the small bootie is still very proportionate! they're really sweet.
I definitely look forward to your finished well-baby sized booties! Good luck! :)
They are both cute! The small one could also be a pin cushion, then you wouldn't need a second one.
I just want to say THANK YOU for ALL those wonderful comments and ideas!! My first thought was to 'cut' it apart and start where I first made my error! Now I am sooo glad I didn't. I just love it when I learn and get ideas from others, don't you?
The booties actually look wearable..very pretty in blue..
