So Sad...

I don't know what happened...yesterday they had 4 out of the 10 eggs...today All were destroyed. Perhaps 'bad eggs' or perhaps something got to the eggs...anyways, I have a heavy heart. Silly. I know.

Not at all silly..from the way they are scattered I reckon something got the eggs..
Maybe it is early enough for them to lay a second clutch.
It is always sad when things dont work out how we would like...nature is a bugger sometimes.

Thank you ladies. I am cutting up fabric today...trying to keep busy. Perhaps a duck/egg would be fun to tat. Ok maybe not fun, but memorable.

That's not silly that you're sad! It always upsets me when people say things like, 'It's JUST an animal, what's the big deal!" or "It's an animal, they don't feel anything" HELLO! Just because they can't TELL you how they feel doesn't mean they don't feel! Some poor ducky mom lost her potential babies and it is sad. The world needs more sweet and sensitive people such as yourself. :)

Hello Nancy, I am soooooo very sorry that Mrs. Duck eggs were all destroyed. I wonder what go them, maybe a snake that could of crawled through your fence. How very sad indeed. I remember the last years ducklings swimming in the pool and they were all soooo sweet. Maybe she will try and lay another batch of eggs??? You are not silly just a tender loving heart like most of us have. Hugs Judy

:( Maybe she has a lot of eggs elsewhere and just couldn't deal with both sets - a bit of a stretch, but I'd hang onto that thought!
