State bird and flower quilt

The technique I am using to make this quilt comes from different sources combined together:

'Aunt Martha's Hot Iron Transfers State Birds #626' from Colonial Patterns.
http://www.colonialpatterns.com/

I am applying it to a 10 inch fabric block, later to be trimmed to 9 inch block.

DMC thread. http://www.dmc.com/

From the book 'The Embroiderer's Handbook by Margie Bauer I am using different type of stitches to give it a different look and texture.

Thanks to Alicia in Hawaii, I am using the technique she has on her site:

I have not decided yet how I am going to piece the quilt together. It my be 'on point' or just in rows...
