This has to been one of my longest and most painful project ever. But, its all good...finished and delivered! The material is from the clothing of the grandmother of my husband and siblings. His sister wanted a small quilt, you know. Something from her Grandmother. She was 102 years old when she passed away. I started the quilt with the fabric I was sent, only to be told 'some of it was from 'mom' NOT 'grandma'. Silly me, I started removing the squares and replacing them. When it was time to quilt...OH MY!!! What a mess. What was I thinking! Soooooo, I took it all apart, yes. All apart. Trimmed the edges, moved the triangles and started again! But I am so glad I did. You have to be please with your work before you can present it!

What a lovely gift! I am a quilter also (on a small scale) but I've never torn anything apart once sewn. I understand why you did though - and you should be SO pleased that it is exactly how you wanted it. I'm sure it will be appreciated and treasured!
Beautiful. what a labor of love to do it 3 times.
You are a trouper! And it was worth it, because it is truly wonderful!

Beautiful quilt and lovely idea to use some of her grandmothers material to make a master piece for her.
