Christmas movies, crocheing and tatting!

With wind chill factor being below zero (Fahrenheit) it's a great time for P.J.'s and staying indoors. Here is what I crocheted. A ponytail hat/neck warmer. Easy to make and in no time at all I had one made for myself.

Also, having a blast with these adorable ICE DROPS. A little something for the Christmas tree, or hanging anywhere you want a little color.

Here I have already added my beads to the ball thread, ready to make these dandy little gems up into 'Ice Drops'!

So many have started making these and I have seen a lot on Facebook and even Pinterest. The gems are little glass pieces about 3/4 inch. They can be found in the floral department of most stores. They are used to add to the bottom of a vase. You may have notice them. I found some at Wal-Mart, Dollar General and Hobby Lobby.

Now, I will share the link on how to make these 'Ice Drops'.
Diane, aka 'Lace Lovin' Liberian' has shared a tutorial for making these. Many thanks Diane! Have fun making these and share with me your Ice Drops! Love to see what you come up with. https://lacelovinlibrarian.blogspot.com/2016/11/step-by-step.html

Have fun! Take note, they are additive to make! LOL

Christmas Wreath with Berries.

Pattern by Betsy Evans. Thread is Lizbeth size 20 in the color Christmas Green Mix. Seed beads as berries.

Some of my favorite things, coffee and tatting
on a cold day. Nothing like the aroma of coffee beans warming by a Tea candle.

An oldie, but goody...

Have you ever had a tatting pattern that just did not make sense?

Well, that is what happen to me. Christmas Berry Wreath, pattern is by LaRae Mikulecky. I've had the pattern for a few years now but it always manage to get put aside. Until now. OH MY! I guess I was having a really big bad 'blond moment' because I had so much trouble understanding the pattern.

Love the internet! I found it on line and even went to other blogs seeing that I was not the only one who had to do it a few times. I saw where a tatting friend whom I chat with on line did it. I mention my dilemma.

Bless her heart, not only did she 'tat one up' but posted on her Facebook page the explanation and pictures. We were chatting this morning and I said something about how now people from around the world will see this. (she is in Argentina and I from the USA) Which comes to this idea: Let's tat!

If you care to, join in. I would love to hear from people all around the world who will tat one up!
Click the 'Let's tat' and see her pictures and explanation. I know a lot of you have done this, but perhaps it will be fun to do it again! Happy Tatting ya'll.

OH! I can not forget to mention another tatting friend Elaine Gan. She took the time last night and wrote out the pattern and invited me over today so we could tat together!

Elaine's Christmas Tree...

I went to my friend home the other day and just had to share with you her awesome tatted ornaments! I think she said over 200! Plus she did all the hand made hooks too!

She has more to put on the tree...perhaps next year she thought she may tat her own angle for the top!

In the search area type in 'tatting'.

Don't you just love the Red and Green Christmas colors!!

Covered baubles

Not to early to start.... The large one I used Flora thread, size 20.  For the smaller ones, Lizbeth size 20 thread. I used a  snowflake pattern by Kaye Judt from the book 'A Little 'O This A Little O' Tat for the gold one. The red one is a pattern from Mary Konior's 'Anniversary Motif. Two ladies in my tatting group suggested I use 'Liquid Stitch' to attach the tatting to the balls. So, that is what I used and so for, so good!
