This was soooo fun to do and sooooo much faster then tatting one!! I was introduce to a 'new to me' blog, found here: http://lovestitches.blogspot.com/. She has a wonderful tutorial on how to make this hair piece.
I used size 10 thread and 1.8mm hook. I am working on another, getting ready for summer! Stop by her blog and say 'Hi'!
I am now working on one that is red white and blue. The thread is Valdani size 8. It may be a little smaller but so far its just as cute. Another way to use up my size 10 and 8 thread!

That is adorable! I think I'll check it out. My hair's too short, but my three granddaughters would love them!
Brilliant, lovely colour, I don't like my hair up, but I am sure if I could crochet my grand daughters would love them..... If they want one they can make it themselves

Oh yours came out so beautiful! I love the variegate colors you chose! Yes, you are correct, it's a good way to use up our thread! So much fun, huh? :) There're a lot of thread left in my basket, so I'm very happy with this project! I'm glad you too!! Thank you!
Hope your new week is gorgeous!
Best wishes,
